WBB Receives Nunn-Perry Award for Mentor-Protégé Program Excellence

February 9, 2015

Whitney, Bradley & Brown, Inc. (WBB) announced today that it was awarded a U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) award for Mentor-Protégé Program Excellence. The company was recognized by the DOD Office of Small Business Programs for assisting its protégé firm, Edaptive Computing, Inc (ECI).

The prestigious Nunn-Perry Award, named in honor of former Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry, was first awarded in 1995 to recognize outstanding Mentor-Protégé teams formed under the auspices of the DOD Mentor-Protégé program. It recognizes mentor-protégé teams that have excelled in technical developments, cost-efficiencies and increased business opportunities for small disadvantaged firms.

“The success of this Mentor Protégé relationship between WBB and Edaptive was driven by the vision of a partnership that created true value for both companies, a collaboration that allowed us to exceed the return on investment expected,” said Robert Olsen, WBB chief operating officer.  “WBB believes the true success of this program is the long term relationship and continued growth we see with Edaptive as we continue to provide DOD high quality service.”

WBB has been an active participant in the DOD Mentor-Protégé Program for six years. The company is a strong advocate for the growth of small businesses hosting small business collaboration events throughout the year.

Edaptive Computing, Inc., a Women Owned Small Business founded in 1997 and headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, provides solutions for analysis, optimization and automation of complex processes and systems.

“The relationship between our two companies - prior to, during the formal mentor protégé relationship, and after - has been extremely successful. This partnership has allowed Edaptive to better understand requirements of our DOD customers and as a result create effective and efficient analytics solutions for them.” said Anju Chawla, ECI chief executive officer.
